Some thoughts on networking

Last month Daniela – HPAIR Conference Ambassador Austria – argued that all successful people share similar mindsets and have certain characteristics like discipline, enthusiasm or making sacrifices in common.

While all this might hold true, I would like to encourage you to ‘network’ with people that are appealing to you. Appealing doesn’t necessarily mean that they have a similar mindset. Moreover, don’t make the mistake to only chat with people who seem intuitively appealing, for example because they possess a high sympathy or are very successful in what they do. Why? (1) We all have prejudices and sometimes it needs a while to overcome them. (2) Everyone is unique and might become valuable for you. (3) People with challenging or opposing views might inspire you in the long run more those people who tend to agree or support your ideas under all circumstances.
