There are many international forums and summits out there, but one student-run academic conference you should definitely have an eye on is the 2014’s Warwick Economics Summit, which will take place on the weekend 7th – 9th February at Ramphal Lecture Theatre at the University of Warwick. Yesterday Eric Maskin was announced as the keynote speaker for this year (click here for the official press release). Maskin, who gives classes in economics and mathematics at Harvard University, was awarded the 2007 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics with Leonid Hurwicz and Roger Myerson for ‘laying the foundations of mechanism design theory’. Amongst the other speakers are Sam Potolicchio (Georgetown University) and Ian Goldin (Oxford University, former Vice President of the World Bank).
