Today we are entering a new topic to our blog. It’s innovations and will include reports of innovative business concepts.
This post is about the German restaurant chain LaBarraca which we tried for you in Hamburg last weekend.
LaBarraca is a group of three italian restaurants situated in Hamburg, Munich and Luebeck offering the innovative idea of ordering by tablets. Instead of a menu and waiters every guest has a tablet to order with. What we really liked about this system is that you see a real picture of every dish and drink you can order so you won’t have any surprises. Another advantage is that you can see a sum of everything you’ve ordered at any time so you don’t have to calculate in your head all the time. Of course there’s still service staff availale to bring your drinks and food or to help you when you do a service call via the tablet. On top of this innovative system the restaurant is furnished very stylish and what is probaly the most important offers good italian cuisine for a decent price.
Despite these positive factors we must say that the food you order at the same time not always arrive together, so you should leave your idea of a classic dinner with several waiters at home.
Still, we think this concept really has a chance to grow internationally. So if you’re coming to Germany you should really consider trying this restaurant.
We hope to hear your opinions in the comments below. Also if you have visited restaurants with a similar concept.
